Muddy Prevue 3 Ground Blind Review

Adrian Jessen

The past couple of years, I’ve done more hunting from a blind than I ever have. One thing I noticed while blind hunting is that I find myself constantly moving around to see through the windows because I constantly feel like I’m going to miss something. You know how it is. You don’t want to open the windows too wide and make it easier for the game to see you, but when they’re not open enough, you’re constantly rubbernecking to see all the angles.

Well, when I started seeing these see-through blinds, I knew I had to give one a try. I mean, is there any possible way you can really see out through the windows without the animals being able to see you? So we grabbed a Muddy Prevue 3 and gave it a try.

Let me just say that I was definitely impressed.

Muddy Prevue 3 Ground Blind Review | Features

There are so many things to like about the Muddy Prevue 3 ground blind. It’s pretty easy to put up once you get the hang of it (video below). It works just like most other ground blinds in that respect. The Prevue 3 is also pretty lightweight (14 pounds) and comes in a pretty typical carrying bag, making it easy to transport overall.

This is touted as a 3-person blind, so my husband and I had more than enough room for us, our bags, a BOG Field Pod, and to move around. My husband bow hunted while we were both in the blind, and he had more than enough room to move around at full draw.

Alright, let’s just skip to the functionality of the see-through walls. The Muddy Prevue 3 has two walls that are completely one-way see-through mesh. I have to admit that I was very impressed with how well these actually work. We had deer at 15-20 yards that had no idea we were there and definitely couldn’t see us moving around. The only time I could find that you can see through to the inside is if the window or door on the backside are open or if you’re standing diagonally so you’re looking straight through both mesh sides. Even then, it’s pretty hard to see into the blind.

My favorite thing about this blind is that because you really can see through two complete walls, you’re actually able to sit back and relax a bit in the blind. I didn’t find myself having to constantly sit up to look through windows, and I didn’t feel like I was missing anything. Being able to just hang out and watch game from a relaxed position was really nice.

One more thing I’ll mention here is that the windows slide to open and close instead of folding down. I love this aspect because you can super customize the window opening and just open them enough to shoot through (because you can already see through them).

Muddy Prevue 3 Ground Blind Review | Improvements

As far as improvements, there are only a couple of things I’ll mention here.

The first thing is that the interior components/hubs are made of plastic. Most of the time, that plastic is plenty durable enough. However, we tried to put the blind up one day in steady 25 mph winds with up to 40 mph gusts. Needless to say, the blind did not care for that at all. The wind caught it and popped it out the other direction and broke one of the hubs. So maybe the next upgrade of this model, they could use metal. Or maybe just don’t try to put the Muddy Prevue 3 up in 40 mph winds…

The only other “downside” is that it’s going to cost you from $200-250, depending on where you buy it. Now, that’s actually a pretty good price for what you get, but I’d always like to pay less for things.

Muddy Prevue 3 Ground Blind Summary

Overall, we’ve been very happy with the Muddy Prevue 3 Ground Blind. The see-through functionality is pretty awesome, and if you’ve never tried one, you should. As long as you don’t try to put it up in 40 mph wind gusts, you should be good to go.
