Trophy Ridge Lite 1 Pro Quiver Review

James Rigby

When you think of archery equipment, you most likely imagine the essentials, such as a bow, arrows, tips, and targets. These are important, of course, but there are several other items, some essential and some not, which also require your consideration. One of these would be your choice in a quiver.

Until recently, I had been using the same quiver since I was a kid. It’s a bit bulky and doesn’t hold my arrows as securely as I’d like, but it did the job of safely getting my arrows from the truck to the tree stand. I decided it was time for a change, so I picked up the Trophy Ridge Lite 1 Pro Quiver.

Trophy Ridge Lite 1 Pro Quiver Review | Features

At first glance, there were many attractive features that drew me to the Lite 1 Pro:

  • The compact design fits nicely with today’s more compact bow designs.
  • The 5-arrow capacity is perfect for what I like to carry in the field.
  • The soft texture feels nice, but more importantly, is quieter if it gets bumped.
  • The braided hanging rope is flexible enough to keep with the compact design, but stiff enough to allow for easy hanging while in the stand.
  • The dual grip points for each arrow gave me hope that the arrows might not fall off while walking through the thick Florida swamps.
  • The quiver detaches easily so it can be hung out of the way while hunting. It also has a slide lock to keep the quiver from coming loose.

Trophy Ridge Lite 1 Pro Quiver Review | Quiver Lights

Perhaps you’ve noticed I’ve yet to mention the fact that the Trophy Ridge Lite 1 Pro has a light-up function. This wasn’t an initial consideration of mine when looking for a quiver, but I am glad it is an included feature. What seemed like a gimmick, at first, is a well-thought-out inclusion to what is already a nice product. On top of the Lite 1 Pro, are three lights to be used for navigation while traversing the field in low-light conditions. Carrying a bow in the woods can be a bit cumbersome at times, and when you add to it having to carry a flashlight, your hands can fill up quickly. These three lights on top of the Lite 1 Pro are bright enough to light your way and well-placed to do so while holding your bow comfortably by your side. In addition to the lights on top, the hood interior of the quiver has a single LED to help you see which arrow you’re trying to remove. To top it off, the lights are all green to help prevent from spooking game.

Trophy Ridge Lite 1 Pro Quiver Review | Testing

Real-world testing in the field proved the Trophy Ridge Lite 1 Pro quiver to be precisely what I needed. Every feature and function did exactly what I hoped they would, and I truly have few complaints. The arrows can be a bit tough to get on and off, but they also stay put while the bow rides in a holder on the front of my e-bike – which can be very bumpy! I do also have quite a bit of point-of-impact (POI) shift when the quiver is on my bow, but I so rarely shoot with my quiver attached that this is really not a major concern for me. Since there are many variations in bow balance and shooter habits, your experience with POI shift could be different than mine.

Finally, since the light-up function is part of what sets the Lite 1 Pro apart from other quivers, I decided to test some of its aspects. The lights are powered by two 2032 button batteries, the same as are found in most vehicle key fobs. Battery life was enough for about three full days of constant use before they needed to be replaced. This should be enough for a full season of use. The batteries are accessed from the top of the unit by unscrewing two Allen bolts. The entire light assembly pulls out. But the batteries were quite difficult to remove. Be careful you don’t break the two prongs which hold them in place. After removing the light assembly, I had some concerns about how well water could be kept out in the event of a rainstorm while afield, so I decided to test it out by running water over the top of the unit for about a minute. Unfortunately, some water did make its way into the battery compartment. It wasn’t much, but it was enough to connect a circuit somewhere (perhaps up inside the power buttons) to faintly light up the LEDs, even though they were supposed to be off. Basically, this means if you get caught in a downpour, open the battery compartment, pull the batteries, and allow it to dry out. After a few hours, everything was reassembled and working properly.

Trophy Ridge Lite 1 Pro Quiver Review | Improvements

Something I found a bit lacking was the instructions for the unit. Simply put, there were none. Installing a quiver should be a fairly intuitive process, but it was a bit tricky getting the base turned the correct way so that the quiver was straight when installed. As a side note, the provided screws were NOT long enough to install the base on top of my sight. There were also no instructions on replacing the batteries. Again, it wasn’t a challenge, but something indicating the size and number of batteries would be useful.

Pricewise, the Trophy Ridge Lite 1 Pro quiver is toward the higher end of the spectrum at $74.99 MSRP. This appears to be a $20 premium for the light-up function when compared to the Convoy ($54.99 MSRP), which is another new offering from Trophy Ridge that is nearly the same but without the LEDs.

PROS:

  • Quiver lights are useful in the field

  • Arrows and quiver attach securely

  • Compact design

CONS:

  • Lack of instructions

  • High price compared to similar products

  • Battery compartment not waterproof

  • Provided screws do not work with all bow setups

Trophy Ridge Lite 1 Pro Quiver Review | Summary

Overall, the Lite 1 Pro is a nice addition to Trophy Ridge’s lineup of products. It looks and feels well made, and functions all the same. I have little reason not to suggest you give it consideration should you be in the market for a new quiver to light your way this fall.
