Christmas Stocking Stuffer Ideas for Hunters
No matter how many trail cameras you have, you can never have enough SD Cards. Buy them in bulk and you’ll save a lot of money. In fact, this is one of the most commonly over-priced in-store purchases that hunters waste money on. I’d recommend getting an 8GB or 16 GB SD card for noncellular trail cameras. Utilize 32 GB SanDisk Extreme Pro SD Cards for Cellular Trail Cameras.
Let’s face it, everyone needs a pack of Hot Hands in their backpack or purse. Whether you’re going out to hunt or to watch a football game, Hot hands are a must-have when the temperatures start to drop!
Simple, cheap, and everyone could use another pair or two. Gutting gloves keep you clean during the messiness that takes place after the kill! These make great stocking stuffers!
Bacon Jerky from We the People tastes amazing! I’ve had the pleasure of trying each flavor and they’re hard to put down after you open a bag. You’d be hard-pressed to find a better stocking stuffer this Christmas.

Dependable headlamps are hard to find at an affordable price, but the Black Diamond Headlamps are in a league of their own. A little pricier than most but they’re lightweight and powerful. These were originally designed for rock climbing but backcountry hunters quickly caught on and they’ve been a staple in the pack of thousands of hardcore hunters across the country.
Christmas Gifts Ideas Under $25 for Hunters
Scent control is one of the most controversial topics in the hunting industry but I’m here to tell you I don’t hunt without this product. I use Elimishield Core Body Foam before my hunt, during, and after my hunt. Heck, I carry a bottle in my truck in case I need to clean or sanitize my hands while on the road.
ElimiShield offers the industry’s first FDA-compliant, direct-to-skin scent control with its Core Body Foam, utilizing proprietary nanotechnology that kills over 99.99% of odor-causing bacteria at the cellular level. ElimiShield HUNT Core Body Foam is designed to be used before going out into the field, providing all-day protection from odor-causing bacteria with a single application. ElimiShield HUNT Core Body Foam is powerful enough to eliminate odor-causing bacteria, yet is gentle on skin with an alcohol-free formula.
The Hang Up from Wicked North Gear is a must-have for any deer hunter. It’s simple, easy to use, and the perfect way to display your European mounts. If your favorite hunter has more than one euro mount collecting dust, then be sure to pick up a few more because they’re going to love this gift.

Mosquitos are no match when you have a Thermacell in the treestand with you. One of the biggest hurdles on early-season hunts is blood-sucking mosquitos that make you want to jump out of the tree and run home. The Thermacell is the perfect solution that won’t spook game and it’s worth its weight in gold during early-season hunts. (FYI – Thermacell also makes larger units that are great for the backyard too!)
There are several great gift ideas on this list but the Master Lock Python Cable Lock is the only one dedicated to protecting them! I use these cable locks on trail cameras, treestands, bicycles, ATVs, and more! They’re worth every penny and I’m still using the same ones that I originally purchased a decade ago. They’re tough, durable, and a necessity in my neck of the woods. There’s no worse feeling than anxiously waiting to check a trail camera to find out that it’s not there and someone had stolen it. The Master Lock Python Cable Lock has saved my gear on multiple occasions. Buying in bulk from Amazon will save you money because you’re going to want one for every treestand and trail camera you own!
Not losing SD cards seems to be a challenge for most hunters that use trial cameras. Losing an SD card that contains images from your trail camera can be devastating and the Pelican 0915 Micro Memory Card Case is perfect for storing and organizing your SD cards. I can’t tell you how many SD cards I’ve lost through the years but I can assure you it’s enough to have paid for one of these cases for me and all of my hunting buddies. This is a great investment and high-quality product that will last a lifetime.
Christmas Gifts Ideas Under $50 for Hunters
This is one of the best investments I’ve made in my hunting gear. I can wear the same hunting boots in the winter as I do on spring gobbler hunts because of this inexpensive product from Arctic Shield. Simply slip the Arctic Shield boot covers over your hunting boots when you get settled in for the day’s hunt and your feet will be warm and toasty. On extra cold hunts just throw some hot hands inside them and you’ll never want to get out of the treestand!
The EZ Jerky Shooter, the one of the best Jerky Shooter on the market! Getting started is EZ! You’ll be able to make delicious jerky and snack sticks from the game that you kill. Making your own jerky is a great way to share the harvest with friends and family. With proper care, EZ Jerky Shooter will give you years of dependable service.
Elimishield Hunt is now offering a Bundle Pack on Amazon. There seems to be a new scent-control company hitting the market every month but Elimishield is different. Elimishield is the best working scent control system on the market and is recognized/approved by the FDA to do exactly what they say they’ll do.
Here’s what’s included in the bundle:
- Elimishield Hunt Core Body Foam
- Elimishield Hunt Field Spray
- Elimishield Hunt Hair and Body Wash

If your favorite hunter hunts in cold weather, the Sitka Gear Neck Gaiter is a must-have! I simply do not hunt without it when the temperatures drop. It’s a simple investment that your favorite hunter will thank you for every time they put it on.
Christmas Gifts Ideas Under $150 for Hunters
One of the most overlooked accessories for whitetail hunters is the bino harness. What is a bino harness? It’s basically a small pack for your chest that holds your binoculars, rangefinder, and a few small items for the hunt. You’ll be hard-pressed to find a western hunter that doesn’t carry a bino harness and many whitetail hunters in the east are catching up. One of my favorites is the KUIU Pro Bino Harness. There a lot of great high quality bino harnesses on the market and Black Ovis is a great place to shop for bino harnesses and be sure to check out the Alaska Guide Creations brands.
This TIDEWE hunting blind is equipped with three full panels of one-way see-through mesh that creates a 270-degree unobstructed wide view angle and allows hunters to see their surroundings. This is a must-have ground blind for turkey hunting, especially if you’re taking kids with you. The see-through mesh allows you to see out from the floor to the ceiling but nothing can see in! I purchased a couple of these blinds for myself and really like them. Slightly better built than most ground blinds in this price range and loaded with features that you would expect to pay much more for.
Vortex makes some of the best optics on the market and it’s no secret that they have the best warranty in the business. At this time this was posted, Cabela’s had an awesome deal on Vortex Crossfire HD Binoculars In TrueTimber Strata Camo.
The Spartan Eclipse non-cellular camera takes amazing photos and is smaller than most trail cameras on the market. This compact camera offers an industry-leading IR LED Blackout flash technology, you’ll get vibrant photos during the day and clear, black and white photos at night. Never miss a thing with a 110-degree wide-angle lens and a .4 second trigger speed. On top of that, the front-facing 2” LCD screen of the Eclipse makes setup easier than ever by letting you check the camera’s view and make adjustments accordingly.
Also, Hunting Gear Deals has a 10% off discount code on Spartan Cameras.
Christmas Gifts Ideas Under $250 for Hunters
The best bargain in coolers is from RTIC Outdoors. Pick up a 45 qt hard cooler or the 52 qt lightweight cooler this Christmas. Everyone needs a good cooler and picking up an RTIC can save you 30% or more when compared to other brands (Yeti). I’m in the middle of a gear review on coolers and as of right now, the RTIC is tied for the best cooler of the test.
Christmas Gifts Ideas Over $250 for Hunters
Brand new for this season! The newest edition to KUIU’s infamous hunting gear line-up, Proximity and Wind Pro. The Proximity series combines industry-leading technologies to ensure you remain undetected during close-encounter situations and warm in cold weather conditions. What makes KUIU different than other camo brands? It’s their over-engineered, purpose-driven fabrics and features that are designed to enhance treestand hunting in cold conditions.
Quality hunting clothing is a must-have for serious hunters and the Sitka Gear Stratus Line-up is one of the most versatile options for the whitetail hunter. I’ve been using the Sitka Stratus line-up for more than a decade and I look forward to temperatures dropping enough until I can get it out each fall! The Stratus line is wind-proof and the perfect introduction to the high-end hunting clothing options on the market. I will warn you though, once you start wearing Sitka Gear, you’re hunting budge blows up! Taxidermy bills rise and you’re going to want more Sitka Gear too. Jokes aside, quality hunting clothing keeps me in the woods longer each fall because I’m warmer, dryer, and more comfortable when the conditions worsen. It’s worth every penny,
This may be the most difficult product on this list for you to buy for someone else, but if you’re a hardcore hunter like myself, then you already know where I’m going with this. High-quality boots like Crispi and Kenetrek aren’t cheap but I’m yet to hear anyone complain about making the switch from mid-priced boots like LaCrosse, Muck, or Danner. These boots are customizable so, be sure to know the exact needs of the person you’re buying them for. If you’ve got an upcoming western hunt in the future, boots like this are a must-have.
Possibly the most expensive gift on the list but this is a gift that the entire family will enjoy. The Camp Chef line of pellet grills are phenomenal. A perfect blend of technology and functionality to help you created the best meals of your life. They have several different options in various sizes and price ranges to fit a wide variety of consumers. There’s no better way to recruit new adult hunters than by sharing your harvest with a delicious home-cooked meal.
Check out our review of the Camp Chef SmokePro 24 WIFI pellet grill.
Christmas Gift Ideas for Youth Hunters
Youth hunters often need a smaller framed gun and the Savage Axis II Compact is a perfect choice. These guns are extremely accurate for the price and they’re fun to shoot. You’re might not be getting a beautiful hand-crafted rifle but you will get a rifle that will get the job done for years to come. In fact, I found myself hunting with the Savage Axis II Compact 7mm-08 on several occasions due to its accuracy and reduced size.
For hunters in states like Ohio that allow straight wall cartridges, go with the Savage Axis II XP Compact .350 Legend! It doesn’t have much of a kick, approximately 10% less than a .243 actually. The 350 Legend cartridge doesn’t shoot as flat as some of the other calibers mentioned but with practice, you can shoot this gun out to 300 yards.
- Savage Axis II XP Compact comes in three different models: 6mm Creedmoor, .243, and 350 Legend!
- Savage Axis II Compact is available in 7mm-08, 6.5 Creedmoor, .223 REM, and .243 WIN.
Finding this rifle in stock may be difficult sometimes, so here are few options to help you locate one.
If you’re going to be hunting from a treestand then you better be wearing a safety harness. The same principle goes for youth hunters, whether they’re hunting from a ladder stand, self climber, or lock-on treestand. Safety harnesses save lives and it’s imperative that you start a youth hunter out on the right track by wearing a harness.
Hearing protection is a must for upland game hunters. The more shots you take without hearing protection, the more likely you are to do irreversible damage to your hearing. Products like the Walker’s Razor Series Slim Shooter Electronic Ear Muffs are designed to protect your hearing but still allow low volume noises to pass through the earmuff. Technology has its perks! These can be used in the field or on the range and support at 23 dB noise reduction rating.
I hesitate to list this as an option but it needs to be said. Youth hunters do not need the most expensive hunting camo on the market to make memories in the field. Heck, you don’t even need camouflage to be successful when hunting, but having the appropriate gear helps. The most important part of the hunt (as far as hunting gear goes) is that the youth hunter is comfortable, warm, and dry.
You can spend a thousand or more on Sitka Gear youth camo or do what I did and pick up some camo from brands like Habit Outdoors. I was able to outfit a youth hunter for an entire season for less than $300 this season. Yes, there will be some conditions that will be too harsh for my hunting buddy to join me, but chances are, even with the best hunting clothing on the market, he’s still going to be uncomfortable in those conditions.
We also need to talk about hunting boots. Don’t try to get multiple seasons out of hunting boots by buying them too big. You wouldn’t wear hunting boots that were two sizes too big and neither should a youth hunter. Options are limited for youth hunters but I recommend picking up some Arctic Shield Boot covers and Hot Hands to help them stay warm when temperatures begin to drop.
The Bog Deathgrip Tripod might be the best investment that I’ve made in recent years. This was my bonus son’s first deer season and we jumped in deep with gear. I picked up a Ravin R26x and a BOG Deathgrip Carbon Fiber Tripod and couldn’t be happier. The BOG Deathgrip is rock solid, fully adjustable, and creates confidence for both the youth hunter and the mentor. They Deathgrip comes in aluminum and carbon fiber, with aluminum being much cheaper. However, carbon fiber is much lighter.
Prepare youth hunters for success by giving them their own gear. Whether it be a headlamp, knife, and backpack. Having their own supplies allows youth hunters to gain some independence in the field while allowing them to feel safe in the dark. When you do make a purchase, look for items that are small, compact, and lightweight. The more weight you add to their backpack, the less enjoyable the trip will be.
Knife: I recommend the Outdoor Edge Swing Blaze. This knife makes it easy to field dress an animal and the blaze orange handle might keep them from loosing it. I’ve carried this same style knife for years and it’s been a great investment.
Backpack: TideWe Hunting Backpack. This backpack is great for throwing in the accessories they need, as well as some you’d wish they’d leave at home.
Headlamp: There are a lot of options on the market, just make sure it’s bright and lightweight.
Christmas Gift Ideas for Female Hunters
The Scent Crusher Ozone Pink Gear Bag is perfect for women who like to hunt but aren’t afraid to show off their girly side. The special edition pink gear bag has all of the same great features of the original Scent Crusher Gear bag, it’s just a different color. Staying scent-free is essential to consistent success when hunting and there’s no denying the effectiveness of ozone. This gear bag comes with an ozone generator also. Airport/TSA compliment, so it’s safe to travel with and it comes with a two-year warranty!
Women are just built differently and having hunting apparel and boots that are designed to fit their needs and body shapes are essential to improving their time in the field. I reached out to a few hardcore lady hunters and they all spoke highly of DSG clothing. I’ve even seen ladies sell their high-end Sitka Gear after picking up some DSG outerwear! You can buy DSG clothing directly from them or from popular online retailers like Amazon, Sportsman’s Guide, and several other places.
There are two types of hunters during cold weather. Hunters that have hand warmers and hunters that wished they had hand warmers. This product from HME was strongly recommended by a well-respected lady hunter who swears by them. They last up to 5 hours on a single charge and will really heat up and keep you warm during cold-weather hunts. It might be a good idea to pick up a few extra because everyone is going to want one of them. They’re rechargeable and you can pack them with you on all of your hunting adventures.
Many female hunters have issues finding gear designed for their needs and often find themselves having to adapt to products that weren’t designed with them in mind. Well, Mystery Ranch is different and they’ve worked with some of the most hardcore female hunters on the planet to bring a near-custom fit to their high-end packs. Mystery Ranch is a staple in the backpack and backcountry market and their products come at a price, but they’re built to last for years to come. Their current two models are the Metcalf and the Pop-Up 28. Both packs are designed to the lady elk hunter in mind.
Muck Boots are a great investment whether you’re hunting, four-wheeling, or working on the farm. Muck Boots come in a wide variety of styles and colors as well. I’ll be honest, you don’t have to have camouflage boots to kill deer! If your favorite female hunter isn’t afraid to show off her feminine side, pick up a park or Muck Boots that are trimmed in pick or purple and she’ll love them! If girly colors aren’t her style in the whitetail woods, then pick up some camouflage boots that match your own. Heck, buy a matching pair for the kiddos and make it a family affair.

There’s a wealth of information at your fingertips but there’s something special about picking up an actual book and diving into a subject that you enjoy. Now, most people aren’t avid readers but a good book about deer hunting will hold my attention each and every time. Check out my blog post Must Read Deer Hunting Books for a list of books that every hunter, new and old, should take the time to read. The more knowledge you take into the woods, the better your chance at success.
Game Processing Kit – More than just a knife!
A new hunter is going to need a good knife and a game processing kit. There are several great options on the market for game processing kits with prices varying depending on brand and how many items are included. I recommend sticking with familiar brands like Outdoor Edge. Outdoor Edge has a bunch of options and I’m sure you can find one in your price range. Be sure to pick up some field dressing gloves for stocking stuffers also!
There are a lot of options in the treestand market nowadays but most hunters start with ladder treestand. They’re easy to climb in and out of and you don’t have to rehang them each day. Ladder stands can be small and cheap or big, bulky, and nearly as comfortable as your Lazy Boy at home! Prices vary but don’t worry because the new hunter in your life is just going to be happy to get a new treestand this season. Don’t forget to pick up a properly sized safety harness as well.
Walking to or from the treestand/blind in the dark can be cumbersome and having a dependable headlamp is a must. I’ve depended on a Streamlight Trident LED Headlamp for many years for good reason. It works! I love the bright white LED main light when I need but I utilize the dimmer green LED light to walk to and from my hunting locations. Did you know that deer can’t see green lights? That’s why I utilize a green headlamp like this one from Streamlight.
One of the easiest ways to transition from gun hunting to archery hunting is with a crossbow. Many states allow crossbows to be used during the archery season and this has opened the door for new hunters to enjoy more opportunities than gun hunting only cannot provide in most states. Crossbows range in price from a few hundred dollars to a few thousand dollars. You don’t need need to spend thousands on a crossbow to kill a deer but if I had to pick out a crossbow for myself, it would be a Ravin! Ravin crossbows are top of the line but I’ve shot plenty of lower-priced crossbows that were accurate enough to hunt with anywhere.
One of the most difficult aspects of hunting for new hunters to learn is judging distance. Whether it be archery hunting or gun hunting, the distance between you and your target will drastically impact your point of impact. The simplest and quickest way to master this skill is by utilizing a digital rangefinder. Rangefinders come in a wide variety of styles and designs, with prices all over the spectrum as well. For archery hunters, I’d recommend something that calculated the angle of compensation, such as Vortex Impact 1000 Rangefinder or the Bushnell Broadhead Laser Rangefinder. There are cheaper options on the market but both of these companies stand behind their products and I’ve had good success with both brands.
Christmas Gift Ideas for Senior Hunters
Treestands aren’t for everyone, so make sure you know your audience before purchasing this gift. However, if your loved one still likes to climb up into a tree for an evening hunt, you might as well get them the most comfortable treestand on the market, the Millennium M150 Monster Treestand. The M150 Monster is a fixed position treestand, meaning it’ll need to be hung in the tree and the hunter will need climbing sticks or steps to climb up into the stand. I’ve had the opportunity to hunt out of this treestand before and it is my favorite stand by far. It’s much lighter than it appears and is way more comfortable than any other treestand on the market.
Everyone loves a good knife and brands like Case XX, Buck, and Leatherman are always a hit. Knives are a necessity for the hunter and there are several different options to choose from. Gutting and skinning knives are more common styles for gifts for hunters, but don’t shy away from the classic Case XX or spice it up with a replacement blade knife from Gerber.
The smell of deer jerky fills the house as everyone anxiously awaits the timer to buzz in hopes of digging into a fresh batch of jerky. That’s one best memories that you’re going to remember if you buy your loved one a dehydrator. Dehydrators are a must-have for any serious deer hunter but you can’t make a batch of jerky without everyone you know bugging you for some.
Cellular Trail Camera – Moultrie Edge Mobile Delta
As some hunters age, they often lose the drive to hunt as much at they used to but technology has a unique way to instill that fire to hunt again with cellular trail cameras. Having photos delivered directly to your phone or computer is a great way to get someone excited about the upcoming hunting season. Cellular trail cameras aren’t for everyone but this is a gift that you’ll benefit from as well! Check out the Moultrie Mobile Edge for only $99.99 or the more popular Reveal X Gen 2 by Tactacam.
Christmas Gift Ideas for Bow Hunters
The Painted ArrowMAG-PRO PLUS is the ultimate POV camera solution for archery hunters who need a little extra hold power. This is the big brother of the standard MAG-PRO; containing twice as many magnets inside the housing to ensure your phone stays put.. no matter what! This product was specifically designed for archers who have higher draw weights (65 lbs +) and just experience slightly more vibration in their grip once an arrow is released. This is also a great option for hunters who own a larger cellular phone to ensure video quality is as high as possible.
Love them or hate them, this product works. Put the opinions of these two to the side because the Bowmar Nose Button is legit! Everyone can reap the benefits of increased accuracy by installing a Bowmar Nose Button on their hunting rig, I did this year and my groups shrunk instantly! It’s not often that a product comes out that I think this highly about but they made this one right. Don’t believe me? Ask Levi Morgan.
Quality targets are an investment as long as you take care of them. There are cheap targets that struggle to stop an arrow, then there are elite targets like Rinehart that are designed to take shot after shot for years for the average archer. Invest in a target that will hold up to the abuse that you intend to subject it to and still allow easy arrow removal from the first shot to the last shot. I stand by Rinehart targets and the RhinoBlock is a perfect place to start. If you don’t want to spend that kind of money, try the BlackOut 6-Sided Foam Archery Target for about half the price.
If you’ve ever traveled with archery equipment, then you know how important it is to protect your gear. A quality bow case is essential if you’re going to be traveling via airplane especially and this case is the best! It has plenty of storage capacity for your arrows and other archery-related accessories that you’ll need for your hunt. Plus, it’s equipped with wheels for easier maneuverability when moving through crowded airports. Even if you’re not flying with your bow, you still need a quality bow case.
The most debated question in the archery industry… Fixed blades or mechanical broadheads? Well, the answer is simple, when in doubt, go with fixed blades. If you’re shooting under 55 pounds I personally feel that your only ethical option is fixed blades. Anything over 55 pounds, then you can join in the conversation. Mechanical broadheads tend to fly better than fixed blades and help out with human errors such as poor form, bad grip, or an out-of-tune bow. However, if you happen to hit the shoulder or another large bone, your chances of recovering the animal with a mechanical broadhead are slim. If you were shooting a fixed blade, your chances are much greater. Now, mechanical broadheads are great when you hit softer tissue like the lungs, liver, or even stomach. They tend to open up larger wounds and do more damage in the process.
Here are few broadheads that have stood the test of time:
There are tons of other great broadheads on the market and you can check them out here.
Christmas Gift Ideas for Rifle Hunters
Scent Control is an important element of my hunting season whether I’m trying to shoot a deer at 20 yards or 200 yards. The Trunk by Scent Crusher is a great way to store your hunting clothing and gear during hunting season and after the season. The Trunk is portable, meaning you can throw it in the bed of your trunk the morning before your hunt and dry wash your gear with ozone in order to be scent-free before you reach your destination. The rechargeable ozone generator that’s included with The Trunk can operate 4+ hours on a single charge so you can take it with you.
Quality optics are worth the investment, especially when you invest in Maven Optics. The Maven Optics CRF.1 Rangefinder is a rifle hunter’s best friend. This compact rangefinder has the ability to range a target out to 2400 yards! I don’t know who needs a range of a target at that kind of distance, but this thing is accurate and strong enough to do it! I had the chance to test the RF.1 Rangefinder this summer at relatively close distances and I was impressed. The quick-adjust knob and feature-rich design allow this rangefinder to be utilized at long distances and close distances for archery hunters too! Also, the 6x magnification is all you need during archery season and it greatly helps at long-distance ranging of targets too!
Every rifle/gun hunter needs one thing, ammo! However, not all ammo is the same. The best advice I can give you is to pay attention to what they’re using. When the hunter in your life packs up for their next hunting adventure, sneak a photo or two of the ammo they’re bringing along on the hunt. If that doesn’t work, don’t be afraid to ask. Chances are, they’re going to be just as excited that you cared enough to ask as they would be if you tried to surprise them with ammo that they may not need. The link above should help you find what you’re looking for.
Good gun cases are worth their weight in gold when you need them the most. Whether you’re flying to your next hunting destination or traveling throwing your gear in the back of the truck to drive up to your hunting camp, the Pelican Vault V800 Double Rifle Case is perfect for the occasion. Check out the gear review for more information on this case and see how there’ enough room for two scoped rifles inside.
Every gun that gets taken out of the safe gets cleaned. That’s the model that many gun guys live by in order to protect their investment for generations to come. The Tipton Best Gun Vise is a great option for the price and you can pick one up for under $150. They make fancier models but you’ll need to pay a little bit more money on it, however, Hunting Gear Deals has an exclusive discount code that will save you 10% at checkout. Also, check this post for the best deal online right now.

It’s a great addition to an AR platform for spot and stalk hog hunting also. The integrated mount will attach to a Weaver or Picatinny rail. I run this optic on my turkey gun and it has performed AMAZINGLY well and helped me knock down a bunch of longbeards.
Palmetto State Armory has a discount code on the Vortex Venom Red Dot Sight with 3 MOA Dot Reticle. It is normally priced at $249.99 but if you use the discount code: VENOM at checkout, you can save $90 at checkout! This brings the price to only $159.99. This promo code was active at the time this was posted. If it doesn’t work, check this post for a new code.
Finding these guns will be tricky but if you can find one, jump on it! The Stevens Model 301 Turkey guns are a great value for the cost. With the right ammo, the Stevens Model 301 .410 will consistently knock birds down out 40 yards or more. Of course, you’ll need to use TSS ammo to achieve this but it’s a blast to shoot due to its lightweight carry ability. Not all turkey guns are created ammo and the same goes for turkey ammo. Invest in quality ammo as well. This gun comes in larger options like 12 gauge and 20 gauge also.
Turkey hunting for me means lots of walking and high temperatures, so I need clothing that won’t weigh me down. Blocker Outdoors offers an exceptional line-up of turkey hunting gear as well as other brands like Sitka too.
Turkey decoys continue to get more and more life-like as the technology increases. However, the more detail they get, the higher the cost and the heavier they seem to get in the process. Avian X makes some of the best turkey decoys on the market.
I’m also a big fan of the Montana Decoy Purrfect Pair XD Turkey Decoys and I fully recommend them to all turkey hunters, regardless of age or experience. They’re lightweight and packable than most decoys on the market.
Turkey hunting often consists of running and gunning and cover can be a hindrance in some areas. Well, the Primos Double Bull Surroundview Stakeout Hunting Ground Blind is the perfect way to eliminate that issue and they’re cheap. This mobile ground blind was built for the turkey hunter who’s constantly on the move. Simply find a place to sit down and pop it up in front of you before the gobbler closes the distance. It’s a must-have for turkey hunters, especially those who are self-filming.
Christmas Gift Ideas for Duck Hunters
If you’re a duck hunter, then you’re used to your gear getting wet and there’s no quicker way to run your gear than exposing it to the harsh, wet winter weather. This field bag will keep your upland or waterfowl hunting gear dry and organized even in the wettest conditions with Beretta’s waterproof Waxwear cartridge bag. I have this exact same bag and thought there’s no way I’d pay this much for it but this bag is worth the money. It’s built to last for years to come and it may even save you money in the long run.
No one wants to put on wet waders at 4 a.m. on a winter morning. The Wader Peet Electric Boot dryer is designed specifically to help dry out your waders overnight. No more wet waders! This product comes with a 25-year warranty, which is unheard of when dealing with electrical products like this. I keep Peet boot dryers with me on every hunt and there’s even one in my office at work. Five years of underground coal mining will do that to you even though I haven’t been underground since 2016. I keep them in my office just in case I get my work boots wet because I know how miserable it can be to work or hunt in wet boots. Be sure to buy the Peet Wader Boot Dryer because they come with extensions to fit hunting waders.
Another great duck hunting product from Beretta that will protect your gun and your hunt at the same time. Duck hunting presents some harsh conditions and you need a gun case that’s built to withstand those conditions. The Beretta Waxwear Gun Case w/ Wraparound Folder Closure is perfect for keeping your gun protected in the harshest conditions. Beretta also makes a floating shotgun case called the….(wait for it)…Beretta Floating Gun Case! Both are great options and would be welcomed by anyone that duck hunts. If I had to choose only one, I’d go with the Waxwear personally!
Waterfowl hunting is a blast! (Pun intended) As much fun as waterfowl are to hunt, it’s just as satisfying eating them! Duck, Duck, Goose: The Ultimate Guide to Cooking Waterfowl is the best resource for waterfowl-related recipes to take your wild game meals to the next level! Cookbooks are one of those gifts that keep on giving!
Filming hunts has become much more popular in recent years and one of the most difficult hunts to film are waterfowl hunts. The Tactacam 6.0 is perfect for filming waterfowl hunts because you can mount it directly to your shotgun without affecting your aiming or shooting abilities. Simply turn it on and film each shot you take, the hits and misses. The Tactacam 6.0 is great for other types of hunting as well, including upland, turkey, and archery hunts.
There are a ton of great waterfall decoys available but my favorite place to find discounts on duck and goose decoys is Wing Supply. You’ll find an assortment of decoys and calls discounted year around. From my experience, waterfall decoys do not get drastically discounted very often. In fact, Hunting Gear Deals has been around since 2016, and waterfowl decoys have been a tough item to find great prices on for the last five years. Another good option is Hunter’s Wholesale and if you click the link you can save an additional 5% on select items.
Christmas Gift Ideas for Upland Bird Hunters
Upland bird hunting is a fun way to spend time in the field with friends and family. However, even the best days in the field can become an aggravation without the right gear. I quickly learned this during a dove hunt this year because I didn’t have a high-quality upland bird vest like the Beretta Covey Retriever Vest. I found myself chasing shells around in my vest when I should have been reloading and putting birds on the ground! The Beretta Covey Retriever Vest is lightweight, breathable, and water-resistant. The game bag zips off easily for easy cleaning after a day of chasing birds in the field!
Hearing protection is a must for upland game hunters. The more shots you take without hearing protection, the more likely you are to do irreversible damage to your hearing. Products like the Walker’s Razor Series Slim Shooter Electronic Ear Muffs are designed to protect your hearing but still allow low-volume noises to pass through the ear muff. Technology has its perks! These can be used in the field or on the range and support at a 23 dB noise reduction rating.
If there’s one thing that upland bird hunting is known for, it’s walking. Whether you’re walking behind a bird dog, waiting for the dramatic pause and point before the dog flushes a rooster into the sky or you’re traveling across the open landscape in search of the next bird. Quality boots that are built for hiking, yet tough enough to survive the season are hard to come by. Boot prices vary between brands but don’t be afraid to invest in quality boots because they’re worth it in the end.
We can’t forget about Man’s Best Friend! Securing and protecting your dog should be your number one priority and Gunner Kennels has top-notch dog boxes that are built to last. The G-1 Kennel is built like a tank and designed to last for years to come. The impact resistance and safety features equipped with the G-1 Kennel is second to none. My only word of caution is to ensure that your bog box is firmly secured before traveling. I’ve even seen where people drill holes in their truck bed to permanently secure the box inside. Pick up a 4Knines Waterproof Dog Bed Liner for added comfort.
Christmas Gift Ideas for Deer Hunters
Scent Control is an important element of my hunting season and an ozone generator such as Ozonics is perfect for a deer hunter. Ozonics can be utilized in the tree or ground blind, as well as a dry wash to kill any unwanted odor on your gear. I never hunt without first treating my clothes, boots, and pack with ozone. There are several great options on the market but Ozonics has been my go-to for years.
There are deer scents and attractants and then there’s RAW Frozen Scents. RAW Frozen Scents is the freshest deer urine and estrous scents on the market that I know of. You might be asking, “Why would I buy deer urine after deer season?” For starters, it’s frozen and can be kept all year long. Simply throw it in the freezer and use it as you need. (The bottom shelf of my freezer is currently full of RAW Frozen Scents).
Deer hunting just seems to get more and more expensive as the years go on. Whether it’s the price of licenses and tags or the gear you take into the field. Often times the higher prices are associated with niche products and/or high-quality gear, and that’s true most of the time. The mobile hunting community has blown up in recent years and mobile hunters demand lightweight gear that they can rely on. The saddle-hunting community took that concept and blew it out of the water. Brands like:
Spartan Cameras are arguably the best cellular trail cameras on the market but they come at a price. I’ve got several of them running right now and I’ve been extremely pleased with their performance and battery life over the years. They offer several options for various cellular providers, unlike other brands that stick to the big two (AT&T and Verizon). Also, the mobile application is top-notch, which makes reviewing your trail camera photos quick and easy. Hunting Gear Deals has a coupon code that will save you 10% at checkout!
Be sure to check out the Go Live from Spartan! This cell cam allows you to view a live feed from your trail camera from the comfort of your office or couch! I’ve got one and it’s a blast.
